Ok so the other day i turned my computer on and randomly couldn't get onto the internet whereas about 2 days before i had no problems. Now my computer is on a wireless network but it says that it still has an excelent conection. Is it the network thats the problem or simply something on my computer and if so what could it be? I have been through the troubleshooter on the computer and still nothing. I'm running XP pro.

Goto your router's setup pages (the 192.168.x.x stuff), and check that it's still connected there.

ok i've checked all the settings and thats fine.

tried pinging the default gateway from my compter and it didn't work so i think that is where the problem lies just need to find out how to fix it.

anyone got anything i can try? i've been trying to find other cases of this and the only one i can find that actually says how it was fixed was to completely reinstall everything on the computer and i'd like to keep that as a last resort.
If possible, plug your computer (or another one) into the router via a cable and see if you can access the internet that way.
