Paedophiles living in my area

I have been reliably informed (by staff), that a special needs care home in my village has 7 convicted paedophiles and two convicted rapists (one of whom has committed 12 rapes - 2 at knifepoint).
I am a mother of a ten-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl and am horrified that these predators are being housed in a community mostly made of young families and old people living alone.
I have always kept a close eye on my children, but my ten-year-boy is of an age where he goes out with his friends, and I no longer have the luxury of knowing where he is 24 hours a day.
The care home in question is situated some 1000 yards away froma playing field and half a mile away from a primary school and nursery - what braindead muppet thought that it would be a good idea to lump these "people" together where temptation is just a short walk away.
We live in the fens, near Wisbech, Cambs and there are many places that a paedophile or rapist could take a victim and they would not be seen or heard.
WHAT SORT OF COUNTRY DO WE LIVE IN THAT PUTS THE RIGHTS OF PREDATORY INDIVIDUALS BEFORE THOSE OF DECENT LAW-ABIDING CITIZENS AND IN PARTICULAR, CHILDREN.
What can I do about it? Why should I keep my kids under lock and key - do they not have the right to live a normal and carefree childhood?

Tomd - If I, or anyone else who has posted on this thread are retards, we would not be able to hold a sensible and interesting debate - which we seem to have managed quite well, without your infantile statements!
Instead of insulting our intelligence, why don't you explain why you think rehabilitation does work? Or would that be too difficult for you to do?

i completeley agree, we have found out this weekend that we have a convicted peadophile living about 5 minutes away from our house and it sickens me, we have a 4 yr old and a 2 1/2 yr old. We recently had an incident at my daughters Pre-School Park where an 8 yr old girl was grabbed by a man, who tried to take her , luckily her older sister saw and screamed at him and obviously he ran off.
We contacted our local police stations about this local that has been convicted and they were not interested at all, we had to forcefully report it to tham that we were unhappy about this, as this is an area for young familys and their children, they gave us a crime reference number just incase anything happens!!!!
These people should have no right to live in their discression they lost all their human rights when they violated that of their victims!!
this country seems to protect the welfare of the criminals rather than those of the victims.
I can not bear to listen to the human rights activists that try and protect these people from being found... Bring in Sarahs Law!!!

Ruthie, I agree with what you have to say and I find it hard to beleive that there are so many people slating you for your views! You seem to be a fair and law-abiding person and more importantly a mother who is simply worried for the safety of her children! I think all those who felt the need to take the pi$$ by insinuating that you want to hurt the offenders in some way should go and have a think about what you were actually saying, and then maybe they will see that you have every right to expect the government to try and make this country a safer place for what, we musn't forget, are the future of this nation.
