when i turn on my valor gas fire after the ignition i turn it on full it lights and after a few seconds goes out . any ideas, thanks

The answer depends on the model of the Valor gas fire,
but possible cause is that the gas supply to the pilot / safety device is partially blocked. This would mean that when the main burner lights, the flame playing on the safety device is " robbed " of pressure, therefore the safety device would shut-off the main burner and the pilot.
You will need the services of a Corgi registered engineer to carry out the remedial work.
