Combi Condensing Boiler - How much to be fitted?
6 Answers
Hi. I've now sorted out the damp proofing and full re-wire and have come across another obstacle. The house I bought has a back boiler. How much do you think it would be to have the back boiler taken out and a combi condensing boiler fitted? I know there are sites where I can get a good boiler but i'm worried about how much to budget for the actual removal/fitting.

Also try to avoid buying your own boiler unless you have been instructed first buy a competent person on its output required for the site and your usage. And remember we can only install condensing boilers ( except for a very few exceptions )now and you have to prove why you couldnt fit a condensing one in that case, which is almost impossible to do believe me. so dont even think about a standard combi or you will be wasting your money.
Yes it does include the price of the boiler but this is only a ball park figure as rates vary across the country and also your boiler requirements. My ball park mentioned is for the average 3 bed semi household in the West Yorkshire region. You will also have the additional cost of a new fire aswell. If you want one that is.
Hi, Last year I had the following done, Combi Boiler, Wall Thermostat,, removal of header and immersion tank, crystal filter in water line and new gas feed as the one I had was not man enough for the job.
The boiler was a Worcester and the lot came to 2,300 including VAT. I had three quotes and the local company which did the work was the cheapest. The most expensive was British Gas.
Although I have a problem with the boiler now ( no hot water ) it is being dealt with by Worcester. The boiler has a two year guarantee.
Apart from that everything Gasman says I agree with.
Certainly in the summer my gas bill dropped quite substantially. Rgds Al
