"Passing of time" music

I'm sound man for a local amdram production. I need some suggestions for music that will indicate the passing of time where there will be a break in the acting, but no scene change. I just can't remember any at the moment!

About 15 to 30 seconds. I know I have seen the type of music I'm referring to used in films and plays, but for the life of me can't think of any!

That's novel. It is a pantomime, but I just wanted some straight music for this part of the production.

OK, to indicate the passing of time there's nothing better than the ticking of a clock
(and no I'm not back at Countdown again, honestly!)
so we need some songs with some reference to this.

has the Tick Tock chorus for instance

Can you enlighten us as to what is happening at the end of the scene, and the beginning of the next - might just inspire some thoughts.

Yes, that's a good idea. At both the end of one scene and the start of the other, nothing very dramatic is happening. It's set in a 17th century village, 4 characters exit, then "passing of time" simulating say an hour or so, then another character enters.

Do you envisage using a piece of pop music or are you just looking for some gereric incidental music?

For instance I have several discs of copyright free instrumental themed music for video production, and a couple of the tracks might just be what you are looking for.

Sparky, I was hoping to use something instrumental and last night thought of the "obvious", i.e. Hadyn's Clock Symphony (2nd movement). but I'm not sure if it will be obvious to the audience, unless they know it. Whilst searching for that, I also found reference to Bach's Clock pieces music that I hadn't heard of, and one of those may be suitable. If it's ok with you I'd like to put your kind offer on hold for the time being, and contact you if necessary.
