Which film

Hi, i am desperatly trying to recall the name of a film which i remember form a while back.... the film goes something like this: A black actor goes to a golf competion (that may be inacurate) and is mistakn by a family for somebody else. he decided for one reason or another to play along and goes to live with the family. comical moments which i can recaall are "maccy dees ha haaaa yeah" and when he is in a dentist surgery and mistakes novacaine for soap and his hands and arms go all numb !! many thanks in advance Peter

I've not seen the movie, but it sounds like the plot of "Six Degrees of Separation", and I can imagine Will Smith doing the novacaine bit. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108149/

Six Degress of Separation was my first thought. But it's a black comedy and Smith puts in a restrained performance from what I remember. He was very good in this film. What in the name of god happened? The usual, I suppose - money.

thanks alot for your efforts but my friend has successfully tracked the film down ! Houseguest ! i strongly recommend this film as it is as funny as it gets ! and at �5 DVD from amazon....what are you waiting for !! thanks again! Peter
