Police taking prints

Is this a step too far? now the police have an excuse to take fingerprint data whenever they feel like it, I believe this also applies to motorists. Can the person refuse? Looks like Orwellian Britain is getting ever closer.

Nothing to hide, nothing to fear.

Just heard some iffy communist from "Liberty" moaning about this and that.

I am sure if she was raped and the rapist left a print on her left wing bicycle, she wouldn't complain if the police caught the felon via such fingerprint means.

Bloody do gooders. Big deal I have to give my fingerprints. Oooooooh how am I going to cope???

Beside, although the police do not technically need a reason to pull you over, 99 percent of the time it is done for minor traffic offences. Surely, therefore, people may drive a little more sensibly and maintain their car to a better standard for fear of giving their prints???

All that aside though, I am actually in favour of forced DNA swabbing at birth. A complete database is the only way to erradicate filth from society. Or hit squads.

This is to determine someones identity. At the moment, if police have grounds for not believing you've given them a correct name or address while making enquiries into an offence (eg. Speeding, careless driving) you can be arrested until details can be confirmed.

This will eliminate the arrest part, as soon as police are happy with details, you can go on you way.

But remember dinger it is an offence not to have your driving documents with you in the first place.

I see no problem with the new legislation.
