Fax machine picking up radio 4!

My HP Officejet V40 seems to be picking up Radio 4 all of a sudden. I have not changed anything regarding the cabling or location but it now picks up a clear radio signal whenever it goes off-hook. It is now out of warranty and the tech support team - when they had stopped laughing - suggested a shielde cable between the phone socket and the machine. Any ideas as to why - atmospheric freak, sunspots, rogue transmitters? BT have checked the line and it is sfine - also fine with other devices.

relocate the unit. or try adding a filter (like a broadband filter) or change the cabling!
