Best Grand Theft Auto for PS2?

Calling all you gamers out there. My son wanted the latest GTA that was avertised but when I looked it out it was for PSP only.
Is there a good one for PS2,or what's the latest one that has good graphics etc.?

GTA San Andreas is good, but not sure if it's the latest.

Also, how old is your son, because I think it might have an 18 Cert!

He isn't 18 but I do let him watch 18 films occasionally if I've vetted them first and he is used to violent PC games-is GTA really bad or is there swearing or what?

you simply cant escape the swearing in GTA San Andreas, its f this and mutha f that pretty much the whole time. Even though GTA Vice City was an 18 cert there was hardly any swearing in the cut scenes and earnt its 18 cert from the actions you take as a player in the game.

Maybe not then,is there a similar sort of game that can be recommended that isn't quite so '18+',,but would be interesting and fun enough (and relatively new) for a younger teen?

Canis Canem Edit (dog eat dog)

Is made by the same people who did GTA games, but is for the "younger" generation. - ie no swearing

Set in a boarding school, and you control a character trying to get through life at school, stopping bullies, pulling pranks and so on.

Its just out on PS2 beginning of this month.

forgive me if I'm wrong, as I've not played the game. But wasnt 'Cani Canum Edit' the game causing controversy? You get to choose whether to want to stop the bullies or become a bully. The game has already been pulled from several major retailers.

Seriously though,I have seen it advertised in Game as a top seller, are you sure this is the one?

Yes, you are right,I've just looked it up. Maybe not that one then either-shame,graphics look good !!

ive got canis canem edit and i think that its brilliant, instead of shooting guns you can shoot fire works baseballs ect.in my opinion i feel its right up there with gta as i have both games and if i was piking for your son i would pick canis canem edit, its also cheap at just �25 and its the latest rockstar game

Could try Simpson�s hit & run, which is GTA style Simpson�s, my son really likes it. It's GTA but aimed at younger players
