You can bring as much cash into the UK, in any currency, as you want.

The problem is getting it out of the country you are leaving.

sorry i thought there was a maximum amount too i thougt it was �10,000.00 in cash.

I don't believe there is a limit but HMRC have been known to seize large amounts leaving the owner to prove how it was obtained.
