beetle boot space
Looking to trade in my jeep for something smaller and more economic, and quite fancy a beetle. Only thing is, the car is used occassionally to transport my dog about (who is the size of a small border collie). Is there room in the boot for her comfortably? Or would I be better looking about a bit more. Or indeed, does anyone have any suggestions!! TIA

Beetles only have a back seat. I saw Dog borstal the other week on TV and soeone on there had a Beetle convertible and a Boxer Dog - they had a proper travel harness on it so it wouldn't jump out on the motorway - but it seemed to have plenty of room on the back seat.

I'd look at getting a proper dog restraint instead of letting your dog move about. If you have to brake hard - your dog will fly forward and could seriously hurt you, a passenger or itself as it flies forward.
I'd look at a VW Golf if I were you - I don't think a Beetle's boot space would be suitable for a dog. The engines are similar and no doubt most of the interior is borrowed from one too.
