im 22 and from the age of 14 -20 i smoked cannabis every single day . from 18 - 22 i drank most days . i went on cocaine and extacy ( mostly cocaine ) binges for a couple of years ( not excessive binges ) . i have reciently stopped everything and started to keep fit , however i find myself getting nervous and having panic attacks , this isnt normal for me . will i always be like this or will it go away and if so how long till it does ??
Gnasher what would Dennis have said eh? Panic attacks and paranoia are known side effects of long term cannabis use and withdrawl can also bring these on....Charlie doesn't stay in the system anywhere near as long but your overall health is bound to have taken a pounding with thee amount of substances you have been shovelling in.....Try not to substitute with anything else and just drink load of water and eat as well as you can...the keep fit will help as well...the symptons will go away so stick with it!
Yes, do stick with it, you're young and resilient. It could be that you are an "addict" type person. Maybe some self-hypnosis techniques would be helpful for the tough moments. Good luck.
Recovery is possible if you work at it. Contact Narcotics Anonymous and go to their meetings. Unlike groups run by health authorities or local councils, NA is run entirely by recovering addicts who have been there themselves, so they are the real experts. Doctors, nurses and psychiatrists have only studied addiction, not experienced it.
Studies have shown drugs like ecstacy and cannabis can trigger various personality and brain disorders such as depression or schizophrenia that may have never manifested had you not taken drugs. You can't reverse it, but you can get treatment for the resulting conditions which you will probably have for the rest of your life. Sorry!
WELL DONE DUSTYBIN **** ON THE LADS CAMP FIRE!!! HE IS TRYIN TO SORT IT AND THAT ******** ISNT THE **** YOU WHAT TO HEAR! HE NEVER SAID HE HAD THEM ISSUES HE SAID HE WAS SUFFERING FOR PANIC ATTACKS. ITS COMMENTS LIKE THAT, THAT CAUSE PANIC ATTRACKS. BELIEVE ME THATS WOT TRIGGERED IT IN ME IN A SIMILAR SITUATION. I AM MORE OR LESS OK NOW!!
