Not sure about Versaille, but there's certainly a Grande Salon in the Louvre.

Googling gives "Salon de l'Oeil de Boeuf" - don't know how you'll fit that in! (roughly Room of Ox-eye).

Au contraire Phil7 - you were a great deal of help !

The answer turns out to be "OIEL DE BOEUF" rather than Grande Salon - and now all the other clues fit into place.

So, thanks to you, I've now finished and am now off to bed to dream of England saving the 1st Test (or loads of rain in Brisbane).

Certainly is Muffet.

I had Grande Salon in instead of Oeil de Boeuf and that threw everything out completely - I now have just 2 left to do which I've posted again
