Had some fun with them 30 odd years ago but just that.. No harm done and at least we could spell in those days.

They don't work and there aren't any rules as such. Not really worth bothering with cos if you do someone always messes around with the glass, pretends they haven't and everyone gets scared.

I have done then with my Mum and Grandma, they used to do them all the time as my Grandad passed away many years ago when my Mum was only young. They do work if you are serious about it and are with people who you completely trust not to mess around. I did one with my friends (Big Mistake!!) Two of my friends decided to be silly and mess around, giggling and not taking it seriously, all at once the glass flew at one of them and cut her head open! They soon stopped laughing. Not done one since then, but had some very interesting experiences with my Mum and Grandma, spelling words we had never even heard of and every single one had a meaning when we looked them up in the dictionary. If you attempt one, be careful.

Oh soryy I forgot to add, you asked if there are any rules.. Set up the alphabet in a circle on a table along with Yes and No in the centre, and place a glass in the circle upside down. Two or more people should be present. Place your index finger on the glass hardly applying any pressure what so ever, and be sure to ask serious questions, to begin with ask if anyone is present who would like to contact you, and when you have finished be sure to say you now wish for them to return back to the other side.

I can be fun and it can also be rather scary. Used to do them regulaly when I was a kid with my mates, in the woods etc, and had some scary experiences (one time the coin flying off the table and going up a wall before we let go - tried again deliberatly trying to do it and it wasn't possible...) but the best time was in LA. I was staying in a hostel down Hollywood Blvd. Was with lots of people from all over the world whom I hardly knew, and some of the things being revealed were very personal which weren't even spoken about between us all before we did a ouija. Very spooky - some stuff came out about people in our group who weren't even takling part at that one and were merely sitting back spectating. Always a bit scary! As for methods etc, have only used paper, pen, glass and coin, but know the original is a pencil attached to a wooden part, blindfolded individual and words and sentences were supoosed to be written...spooky, but never tried it. Are there any ouija boards specially made nowadays to buy?

You have to be careful because, as it was put in a book I've read on the subject, you can't choose which spirit you contact and it tends to be the more mischevious ones that like to play tricks, say nasty things or even pretend to be other spirits who are attracted. My brother had a horrible experience with one when he was a kid and was seriously freaked out by it. Lots of people do have good fun with them but if you have a go, be prepared that you might get a git of a spirit who wants to say horrible things to you - but don't forget, if this does happen, that spirits aren't all knowing and don't control the future, so don't be too worried by it!

They DO work and you have to be VERY careful. Never use them in a house. They are not just a bit of fun. A ouija board told me the name of my second husband 12 years before I met him.

okay. when you use the quiji board you must remain consintrated. you have to believe in the board other wise it will not work. thats why alot of people have never got a meassage from the board. they find it only a game. there is only one rule that im truly aware of. that is never touch the middle of the letter selecter. it is usually clear in the middle. they say that if you touch the middle you will allow many unwelcomed guess in. so keep this in mind. poison is sweet and so am i.
