how do i type in an apersand in a header in an excel sheet everytime i add one it doesnt print

You need to put a ' before the &. That will do it.

i have just tried that but it still wont work, it displays it then when i print the & is missing. I really need to earn some brownie points from my boss over this been promised a day off with pay if i can solve the problem

Just a guess, but many Windows programs treat the ampersand as a character to indicate the "hot" letter in a menu item, try putting a double ampersand. Sorry I can't test this for you as I uninstalled Office and replaced it with openoffice.org.

Hi Big I, I have just tried rojash's suggestion and it works on my computer / printer setup

I put

Cat && mouse

into the custom header box and it printed out as

Cat & mouse

Hope it works the same for you.
