Only two tracks - Next Door Neighbour and Is There Life After Breakfast - are what you'd call "Kinksy".
Much of the album is less quintessentially English than what you might expect - perhaps not surprising given that Ray has spent several years living in the US. Don't get me wrong, it still has plenty of Davies's trademark intelligent lyrics and good tunes - Over My Head, hidden track Thanksgiving Day and the aforementioned Life After Breakfast are good singalong tracks - and it's generally quite upbeat. Just don't expect The Kinks!
