Hi!
I have been making Delia's Chocolate fudge cake, the sponge has turned out fine but I have made the topping and it just won't go stiff! I have used evaporated milk, cooking chocolate, sugar and butter. I left the evaporated milk and sugar to boil for at least 6 mins like the recipe says, added everything else and left to chill for an hour but it's still runny. I have in-laws visiting at the weekend and I am trying to impress, is there anything I can add to the runny topping? Or do I need to start over? (which I really don't want to do)

Thank you :o)

Did you actually boil the milk and sugar for six minutes ? According to my book it should be brought to the boil and then simmered gently for six minutes... no stirring ! I can only suggest you add some icing sugar to it bit by bit and beat it until it thickens up ....good luck !
