i've always had this idea. will we ever be able to record our dreams? for example. a type of digital device that activates as soon as you fall asleep and digitally records your dream(s), then stores them for you to burn onto a dvd and watch like a movie the next morning?

lol at ezapf! Interesting question though digidream, not sure if I would want to know all my dreams, maybe only the good ones!
You're not exactly the first to have this idea - type "dream recorder" into google and see! 17,700 when I did it.

The problem is that different brains will store different concepts in different ways so even if you could work out what activity in my brain corresponded with the concept of "egg" you'd find that it'd be totally different if you hitched someone else up to it.

In that sense our brains speak totally different "languages"

Quite a good Sci Fi book about this area, although actually its more to do with memories than dreams...
