Does anyone know of a good restaurant/hotel in Thirsk where I could take a friend to have a decent vegetarian meal, please? It will be my first visit to Thirsk, so I don't know the area or its facilities.

Thanks, ALLIGATOR, for the warning! Is it traffic wardens that are the problem or wheel-clampers? I'll be sure to only park in a reet proper car-park!
