Budget hotels in New York

Can anyone recommend a budget hotel in NYC for a young at heart senior lady under $50 per night? Hoping to go next September for 2 weeks. Thanks Tizzi247

Don't think you'll get one that cheap, though I'd keep trawling through the net. I'm going in March and am staying at the Pennsylvania Hotel (Pennsylvania 6500 is the phone number!), but it's not $50 a night. Last time I went I stayed at the Milford Plaza, but it's about the same price as the Pennsylvania. Maybe if you give the hotels a ring you'll be able to get a deal seeing as you're going for 2 weeks. Do a search on www.travelocity.co.uk and get them to order the results by price - think $50 a night in NYC is being optimisitic - after all would/could you get something in London for �25 a night?
Ensure you check out www.tripadvisor.com for reviews of any hotel before booking it!

You can get a decent room in London for �26 a night with Travelodge - or even �15 at times.... by booking and paying in advance.

But agree in New York it's unlikely
