No Internet Connection!!

I'm with talk talk (say no more!) and I have a wireless connection which has just conked out for no apparent reason!
The wireless icon and signal all say I'm connected and it's a good signal but nothing works! I've checked the original settings and they're fine and I've been on customer & technical support which is rubbish but does anyone else have any ideas I can try? Not sure what else to do apart from find a decent ISP!
All help appreciated!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Have you checked that you're still connected from the router? Usually you'll type in 192.168.2.1 or similar (it varies slightly, sometimes 1.1 at the end), and make sure it says you're connected. On my old router I had to press a 'connect' button on that page a few times every week, when it would randomly disconnect me.
I did check that fo3nix and it said I wasn't but everytime I click connect, it won't!
I've so far uninstalled everything and disconnected the whole thing and started again but I'm still having the same problem!
There is an option to re-boot the router but I wasn't too sure what that would do kerplunk!
I'll have another bash at it tonight and maybe try that!

is the router a router+modem in one?
turn off everything computer-related
if you have a separate router and modem, turn your modem on. then wait a minute, and then turn your router on. then wait another minute, and then turn on your computer.
if you have a rouer+modem in one, just turn that on first then wait a minute.
works? if so, great!
not work? click start->run, and type "cmd" (without the quotes), and click ok.
now at the DOS prompt that's just opened up, type "ipconfig /all"
somewhere there it should tell you that your IP address is found by DHCP, and your IP address should be something like 192.168.1.2...

It may be a router/ modem as it has ethernet connections on the back! Is that what you meant?
I did try that yesterday and the black box came up with all the settings and the IP address was there so why doesn't it connect?
What I did last night was turn everything off, uninstalled all the software I could find and disconnected the router from the wall and all the wires!
When I get back later, I'll start again from scratch and see what happens!!
God I hate Talk Talk and not looking forward to speaking to them again if I have to!!

It still worries me that the initial set up wizard says that there's something wrong with the ADSL still can't can't establish a connection or something and to check either the wires or the password/ username which I've done and it all seems fine!!
What's that all about? I'll monitor how long this lasts and hoping this is it now so thanks to everyone especially to fo3nix for his ever helpful suggestions. (PS I did what you suggested earlier about the wireless signal? I've moved it and getting between 85-96% and can't believe how fast my computer is now!)

My only thought with this is that the router is working perfectly fine but there's a problem either with the settings you've typed in to get the internet working, or your line itself.
Together with your username and password, there's also two numbers you typically have the ability to edit if it's a modem too, the VPN/VCN numbers. I can't properly remember what they are, since I'm not on ADSL, but it's something like 135/0, and depends on your line (if you can change them, Talk Talk should be able to tell you what to change them to if they're not set).

As for the settings, I think the're done automatically as all I did was enter the basic info during set up so I haven't really changed anything!
