if you take a regular bottle of coke 500ml, and you open it to drink straight from the bottle, when you tip it up to your mouth are you drinking the liquid from the top of the bottle or the bottom. i only ask cuz it came up in a conversation between my friends last week and we were locked in argument. can you prove whether or not the liquid is from the top or bottom.

Depending how fast you turn the bottle 90 degrees to your mouth... generally you are moving the bottle and not the liquid inside... so is more likely to be fluid from the mid to bottom section of the container than the top.

Saying that, the fluid gets sloshed around at the smallest of movements anyway.
This sounds like a trick question - it depends on perspective. If you turn the bottle upside down to drink from it then the opening is at the bottom and so is the cola. On the other hand, if we agree that the opening is always the top of the bottle regardless of the bottles orientation, then clearly the cola you're drinking is from the top of the bottle; that is the only path by which the cola can escape the bottle. Meanwhile cola from the bottom of the bottle replaces the cola lost down your throat.
