Dog Ate Seahorse

My dog ate a dried seahorse several weeks ago. He has been throwing up. Is a seahorse poisionus?

I dont think they are- but if it happened several weeks ago it s hardly likely to be that anyway. Dogs throw up at the slightest provocation so unless its persistent I wouldnt worry

Can't help with your question really and like burnhal has already said if he ate it several weeks ago and he's only started throwing up I wouldn't have said the two were related.........however...........I just wanted to say that your subject title is one of the best I've seen on AB....it's a definite "what the ?" kind!

Where the heck did he get a dried sea horse from? I just said to my husband I can't believe some of the questions on AB.

ps Hope you're dog's OK I agree with the others if it was a few weeks ago chances are he s eaten something else wierd by now. Dogs do eat their own sick I have seen that they're not fussy!!

Thx for responses! I was shelling in Sarasota, FL and discovered the seahorse washed up with some seaweed. It was a great find, all my friends were jealous of my found treasure. About 2 hours later I walked out on the porch to find my dog having a little seahorse snack!

The unfortunate part of it is that dogs will eat anything.
