QI - Missing Alan Davies

Just watched Fridays episode of QI. Alan Davies was there at the beginning of the programme but soon disappeared, via a Tardis effect. It seemed really strange, and he never returned. Stranger because he's the only regular panelist.
Anyone know if there's a reason why?

Unfortunately I have no idea as to why Alan Davies was 'energised' and disappeared from QI the other night. I was really quite disappointed that he never returned as IMO Alan is the funniest thing about the prog. Listening to whichever sound his buzzer makes and waiting for the alarm to go off when he answers a Q with the incorrect but most commonly known A is the highlight of the show.

Come back Alan all is forgiven.

Great programme. Well as it may be, on the night that the episode on �Divination� was filmed in the studio, Alan had decided that he wanted to go and watch Arsenal play at The Emirates.
