Digital cameras and battery usage????

Three weeks ago bout an IT Works 8 megapixel digital camera. Have used it three times and taken about 40 pictures over this time but have gone through 8 duracell batteries!!! someone recommend using rechargables which i shall try but does anyone still think this is an awfull lot of battery??my parents dont have to charge theirs as much???

Buy one that uses Lithium Iion batteries. These are the same type that are used on video cameras and they last MUCH longer than any AA or AAA.
My camera with Lithium Ion can take hundreds of pictures between charges.
Try to use yours with the digital screen on the back OFF, this is what drains the battery.
