Just about to move into DVD recording.

It looks to me as though +RW gives more flexibility. Why sould anyone want to use +R?

plus some older players have trouble reading RWs (also some can't read R either)
A finalised R will play in most dvd players.

Some players don't recognise RW.

Also files can be deleted off an RW disk.

After you have backed up your precious photos you do not want to accidently delete them.

Once on an R disk they cannot be deleted.
DVD-Rs can be about for 15-18 pence each, whereas DVD-RWs would be at least twice that.
hi panic,
like others here have said + r are cheaper so
you can record stuff you want to keep films
ect, and just use + rw to use over again

I think you will find that DVD-R and DVD-RW's are more compatible that their +R and +RW counterpart.
