She told him that his daughter doesn't know he exists. She was too young to remember him so she brought her up thinking that her husband was her dad. Bit of a let down really - thought it would be something exciting!

i agree it being a let down, i mean............... shes dead isnt she (the daughter) so i dont suppose she'll give a toss? As for the 'grandson' Jay? well he probably wouldnt have known he existed either.
Anyway, anyway i dont watch it so i have no idea!! lol : O

I think we are mising the point- the grandson is bound to turn up at some point, and get a job as Bert's apprentice without realising he is his grandfather. Bert will let the cat out of the bag when grandson is found in bed with Mo and Evie's husband shoots at Bert and misses, killing the grandson. Bert then kills Evie's husband and gets put back in jail for murder, leaving Mo to sit alone wearing her black lace basque.
