Karoo and a Netgear DG834GT
Is there anyone out there on Karoo using a Netgear DG834GT Wireless ADSL router?
I just got one to replace my none wireless DLink ADSL router and I'm having problems.
The DLink has worked flawlessly for the 4 months that I've been using it but the Netgear keeps losing connection. It only seems to keep up for 5 minutes before dropping out. I can ping the router ok, it's just the WAN side that keeps failing.
I can fix it, for another 5 minutes, simply by rebooting it.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm hoping it's just faulty hardware.

My DLink kept dropping connection but my 834GT is fine.
If it is only the WAN that you are experiencing trouble with, are you sure that it is not the access point which is at fault.
I have a Wifi enabled laptop which has never lost a signal from either router, yet a Safecom USB access point whether fitted to another laptop or a PC,is constantly dropping the signal.
Also, avoid using any Belkin products, the routers are not compatible with the Karoo protocols and the software for the access points demands 100% CPU usage..

I am, since the end of October.
It's supposed to be up to 8 meg but I'm lucky if I get even half that. The fastest download I've had just about hit 500Kbps and that was during the day when I was off work.
A work colleague is also on Max and the bu99er has had more than 900Kbps.
I know it's all down to the quality of the line, distance from the exchange and how busy the network is, hence they say only 'up to 8mb'.
Still annoying though.
