Hermit seeks quiet bar in London
8 Answers
Can anyone recommend a really quiet bar in central London? One that doesn't get too busy and doesn't have loud music blaring out - just somewhere peaceful to have a drink and a chinwag, friendly staff , and maybe some nice chunky chips with sour cream and Thai sweet chilli. Asking too much?

It has all of the above (except the sour cream and thai dips) with the added bonus of being extremely cheap (not named spirits or beers though). It is a fantastic little pub that NEVER gets busy, even on a Friday lunchtime. I forget the name of the road but if you walk down Artillery Row in Victoria (road next to the Army and Navy) and walk towards the pub on the corner (The Grey Coat Arms or something like that) and carry on walking passed a glass fronted building, take a left at the bottom of that road and you can't miss it. Very friendly staff and peace and quiet too. Bit old mannish though so no sprogs or "yoofs".
No not at all! I would quite happily drink there if I lived in London or take my boyfriend there after work. I'm 21 and I like it but everyone in there is generally older than me. They have a food section that is non-smoking too so if you prefer your air clear and unpolluted you can sit there. Even if you aren't ordering any food. It's a quality place, just a little off the main track.
