started a new job 6 weeks ago with the council, people have been fantastic so far made me feel really welcome. There is 5 of us in my office and my manager mentioned today that she had got me and another girl the same gift for xmas. Got chatting to one of the girls and they have all got me a gift. I am only just getting to know them and have no idea their interests or likes but now feel I have to buy them all something in return. HELP!! what do I buy people who are practically strangers? any ideas would be greatly appreciated?

those little gift sets from The Body Shop are always nice/inexpensive - or perhaps some M&S toiletries. you can't go wrong with nice bath smellies : )

How about some homemade goodies in a nice Christmas tin with a bow on top - cheap and usually appreciated. You could make a variety and put a little of each kind in each tin.

M&S have lots of gift ideas and they usually have some nice little gifts from their more trendy Per Una range. Plus there's always the bonus of their 3 for 2 offer!

I think any of the above would do. If these people are as nice as you say they are, they will understand that you don't know them well enough to buy anything more 'personal'.
