Ive got 24 solar light which have been in use for over a year, even through the winter.I think the recahragble batts are now flat and need replacing, which type should I get.
I find the one's with the copper colour top's are as good as any and better than most.
'At the end of the day, I think you get what you pay for!

There are so many different styles of solar light that this is impossible to answer correctly without seeing your lights.
Your best bet is to dismantle one light to work out first and foremost if replacing the battery is actually an option. If you find the battery and it looks replaceable, look for an identifying code. I use this site to buy batteries and they havent let me down yet.
I have about three different types of light. I think I've disposed of all the original batteries. I did this when I installed (don't laugh) ordinary batts which were great, but lasted less than a week.
You will probably find that they are not getting enough sunlight to fully recharge during these darke days. Wait until the days draw out and then they will be back to normal as mine do.
