Why has Jeff left Coupling?

Does anyone know why Jeff has left coupling? I miss the stupid git.

Don't know, stopped wathching after first couple of series. He was best thing in it.

He went to America! I know you probably didn't mean that, but that's where he was when Jack Davenport (Steve) was talking to him on the phone at the beginning of the most recent series. I'm sure he's been in other stuff since the last series of Coupling. I think the show suffers without him to be honest, it's not the same.

In the finale of this season, Steve had a dream about him and he had had a sex change.

Actor Richard Coyle got a better offer, what with his growing portfolio of straight roles. Personally, I really like his replacement Oliver (Richard Mylan). I liked Jeff too, but Oliver's a good replacement.
