Has anyone been to the Kololi Beach Club or nearby? Never been to the Gambia and am thinking of this destination for our honeymoon.

We have been to The Gambia many many times and feel we know whats what and where. My advice is to only book a hotel that has at least 4 stars. Even then you have to be careful. There are no doubt several that can be recommended and I do so for the Hotel Atlantic which is part of the Corinthian International chain. Fantastic.

Do NOT risk a bad experience in this lovely Country by one of the many inadequate places to stay.

Check out the Gambia Experience. I reckon they are the only way to go.

I have to say and I have travelled all over the world this is by far the worst place I have ever been I hated it - I went for one week but if I had of had another week booked i would have left early -my friend who is well travelled felt the same - that was 1998 and maybe it has changed! - have a look on some of the forums on internet and put in Gambia here = it would be risky for honeymoon if you dont know it - in my view there are much better places to go
