Interactive DVD's don't work on DVD player

Just bought an Interactive DVD ready for Christmas day fun! But it just won't work.
It reads the disc when i put it in, but then automatically comes up "Stop". Looking at the disc on the pc, it looks like the files are in reverse order, so the title and intro are at the end and the final farewell is chapter 1. Is this normal? I've tried skipping forward but can't. It plays the first file (which is actually the end of the game) and then finishes.
Any ideas what i can do?

It is a faulty dvd. Take it back for a refund.

Taken it back twice but all 3 are the same.
