Why do periods hurt? Not a rhetorical question although I am feeling very sorry for myself, but biologically what makes periods hurt and cause backache etc?
i always thought it was to do with the release of different hormones.
when i was pregnant i had spd - symphsis pubis dysfunction, that was caused by my body releasing too much of the hormone relaxin - think that's what it's called. now when i'm due on my hip area and pelvis/pubic area hurt too, which again i'm assuming is for the same reasons - because of different hormones and chemical changes.
but i'm probally talking aload of crap and lying haha :D
Your womb muscles contract to shed the lining - that accounts for the 'cramps'. But the back pain - not sure. Miserable isn't it. Much like spending time with a M.C.P I'd imagine - not mentioning any names.
Once a month, our uterous lining has to be shed and expelled, so to help it on its way the muscles have to contact to help get rid of the dead tissue, it is one of the things us ladies has to put up with, men dont understand nor can they comprehend the pain, cramps etc some of us ladies feel and why it affects our day to day wellbeing. Next time im coming back as a man. LOL. It takes a lot of effort to prepare for child bearing!
Wardy; littleone wasn't moaning, she was curious. But roughquest, not all men are that oblivious. Most are sceptical because a lot of women make more fuss out of it than need be. I'd agree it can be horrible but it's life and I get on with it.
