If you can send a "text". Does that mean the person recieving it has been "texted" (text-ed). ie. "Hi, John I texted you earlier. Or would the syntax be "Hi, John I text you earlier"? Please settle argument.

Texted. Its past tense, and to use past tense in english you put an 'ed' on the end of the verb. Simple
