Well,

I just put Body building information in the Google search box and it gave me over one hundred million sites in 28 seconds to look at, perhaps you could try that because it would take me the rest of my life to type a small bit of that on here.

Best of luck with your essay.

its all about training a muscle, then resting it.
i do
shoulders / calves (monday)
chest / biceps (tuesday)
wednesday is rest day
back / triceps (thurdsday)
legs (friday)

notice i do the bigger muscles first each day (more energy is needed for these muscles for example i do back first on a thurs, then i do my triceps)

I dont take steroids so 3 or 4 days a week is plenty at the gym. as any more and my muscles will not recover in time.
Steroids speed up recovery time a hell of a lot, so most of the steroid guys will train 5 days per week.

food is extreemy important, you have to eat LOADS of protein and carbs to grow muscle! (complex carbs) potatoes, porrege, pasta, bread etc. not sugared carbs like fizzy drinks, or chocolate etc.
body biulders will eat a small meal every 2 to 3 hours
genetics has a massive amount to do with it too. people like ronnie coleman, jay cutler (bodybuilers) or like batista, or bobby lashley (wwe wrestlers) are genetic freaks! these are simply lucky with their genetics, Theyre one in a million, and they take alot of stuff!

everyones body is different

bodybuilders usually train each muscle once a week.
your muscles grow when u are resting. (in your sleep)
it is important to get at least 8 hours kip each night (this is when u grow) u dont grow in the gym. your muscles grow bigger in the gym when u train them because they get pumped full of blood, then they shrink again. then you eat loads of food throught the week to feed the muscle which repairs it!

body builders try to 'bulk up' throught the winter months, and diet or 'cut up' for the summer or any competitions they are going in.
good luck with your essay hope this little bit of info helps u mate
