Has anyone or does anyone know somebody that has worked / currently works in Dubai?

I'm seriously considering it in say 12 months or so but can't believe that it can be as good as people make out.

Field of work will be construction.

My friends dad works in Dubai on the construction of the world.

He loves it out there and though he misses his family, the company are great to work for and most of the workers are in the same position (away from home, knowing noone, doing similar job) so there is a great social scene.

my friend went out to visit his dad recently and said it was amazing. So much that he is thinking of moving over there for a while.
