For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.If you have worked there for more than a year, you may have Transfer of Undertaking - Protection of Employment (TUPE) rights. These are designed to prevent a new employer merely dismissing an existing workforce when a business i sold and bringing in new staff. It doesn't mean however, that you cannot be dismissed - merely that your employment with the new owner is treated as if you had worked for him/her since your original start date, and that the terms of your emplyment (including your pay) should transfer on broadly equal conditions. The new owner could still decide to declare redundancies, though.
