My friend sent her 1999 Ford Focus to the garage this morning to replace the (sticky/rusty) accelerator cable, they say the job will be finished by the end of tomorrow, so how much would a (next day) job like this usually cost us?

Help is always appreciated from here!

about 80/90
There's no link between the elapsed time expended by the garage with the car in its possession and the amount of time spent working on the car. It could have been sat on the forecourt for the whole day, then started 30 minutes before the end of the day.
I'd guess at 65 labour charge plus cost of cable so I reckon not much change from 100 when VAT is added.
