Lonnie,I will not apologise to anyone who thinks that someone as evil as saddam ,someone who has been responsible for the deaths of thousands, someone who delighted in torture, has a right to escape justice. The bleeding heart brigade make me sick to the stomach.
Plonker and dipstick is nothing compared to a monster who brought murder, mayhem and fear on a daily basis to thousands. If a bit of name calling offends Boo then perhaps she should try living in a regime like saddams rather than trying to defend his "human rights". Hell will freeze over before I apologise.

Wizard69, I thought the difference between a regime like Saddam's and our lives here, was that we here are all entitled to hold our own views without the risk of being victimised or got at by people with differing views. I don't agree with the death penalty either but you can call me what you like, however I agree with Lonnie that you should apologise to Boo.
People's ideals have to be of a very high standard otherwise when people do get power they end up like Saddam. You should thank your stars that there are people like Boo about, who are able to see the very big picture and not just react to what they'd personally like to happen.

No need for him to apologise- indeed I'd rather Neanderthals who appear to read something in my post which I didn't say to stay the hell away from me to be honest!
wizard in case it escaped your walnut sized brain, I did not once say that I wished he'd escaped justice. I totally agree that he has to be one of the vilest men of this century. However it's my personal opinion that a) he should have been made to suffer for as long as possible in a cell and b) killing another human being (him) makes us as bad as him.

So to execute Saddam would be a cruel and inhuman punishment? How exactly? For the record I am largly against the death penalty myself but someone who has commited the atrocities he has then a quick and clean execution is the only answer. The families of his victims demand it. Pray tell what WOULD be the appropriate punishment.
Nox, as a whole I really enjoy your posts and find them imformative but I must take issue with you here.Firstly you havnt been adverse to a bit of name calling yourself from time to time.Secondly if we all got offended at a bit of name calling then its time to pack in.I dont go around demanding apologies every time someone "offends" me with a name, sticks and stones and all that.
For what its worth I will apologise for the name calling but I wont apologise for my view that saddam got off lightly.
jedimistress...I could well be describing Bush (or his puppet Blair)but the difference is, is that the American people had a choice to elect him or not.The Iraqies had no such privlage.
