Is there a standard way of locking a suitcase with a combination lock as I have no instructions. It is unset and on 0000 at the moment.Need to know asap please?
on mine you turn the hook part round and pull it up a bit. So the answer is probably no, no standard way. If in doubt, get a new one; travelling with a lock you don't know how to operate can be a bad idea.
I would leave it on 0000 to lock it, but get a confirmation on this first, that what I did with mine as I am a hopeless case.
Could you not ask the shop you got it from.?
good luck.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that, when travelling to the USA, it is advisable NOT to lock your suitcases because, if "they" decide to open them for security purposes, they will break the locks. Consequently, it is better to put a sturdy strap round your cases.
Thanks everyone but I had to leave and risk it.Back now and all ok but only flying in the UK.I will get a new one and give my dad his useless one back!
Thanks
