Hi, in a word... no.... rabbits are herbavores, they only eat plants not meat.
A mother rabbit will eat her babies if she is disturbed too soon after having them
Have you not seen Watership Down??? Of course they can, some rabbits are just pure evil!!
Rabbits are no cannibals-ie:eat each other.
Watership down was or is just a novel. Do you believe everything you read.?
We belong to a rabbits sanctuary in West Yorkshire, and have never seen rabbits eating each other, babies or not.
We used to breed rabbits on our farm and an adult will kill and eat a baby rabbit more often than you'd think.
Oh and Richard Adams, author of Watership Down, was a country vet all his life and although he anthropomorphised his animal characters, most of the animal characteristics are spot on.
Take it easy. My Watership Down comment was just a joke. I don't believe rabbits eat each other, or that there is an all powerful general woundwort who kills everything he sees. Or that with the help of a comical Russian Seagul there is a group of rabbits who talk to each other and find a new peaceful warren.

Thanks though Ernestoba
yes mummy rabbits will eat their babies if they are disturbed to soon. One of my rabbits did it so i know its true. And also cats will do the same thing - not if they are disturbed but if the kitten dies while its still young. Horrid but true
