Re fe reed
Re + Fe + Reed
Re BBQ of steak & prawns, in the UK this could be known as Turf (BEEF) & Surf (PRAWNS).

On Saturday, I will make it clear that no link word will restricted to a British audience! I have made my selections already for the month of January!

Thank you both very much. That's it finished for now.
By the way, the first E I wasn't sure of came from:
Drive out when one's left in a car. (8) My answer is Dislodge, but I'm not sure where the car comes in, if at all? Can you explain that for me. Thanks.

Crofter: Turf and Surf here, too. But not usually in January.
We do have Bangers and Mash here, too, so don't be getting to politically correct with your selections. After all, we are learning all these new words and sayings and it helps the old brain cells keep ticking.
It sounds like a US quiz?

DISLODGE = Drive out
I'S + L = one's left ==== inside DODGE (US car)

Second attempt.
I did play with Dodge and the L but couldn't see where the IS came in. Still don't, actually. Not a very good clue is it?
It's a Canadian magazine which doesn't mean beans as most of the articles (and I assume the crosswords) are Americanised. (And don't start me on that subject). It's why I prefer the UK crosswords when I can get them - Generalist etc.
Thanks again for your help. Off now to collect the mail and have some lunch.
The roman numerals i v x l c d m can be used to represent the corresponding numbers, 1 5 10 50 etc. Thus "one = i" and "one's = i's"

Thanks for the explanation. I'll store it in my personal memory bank called a brain! :-)
