By the way, the first E I wasn't sure of came from:
Drive out when one's left in a car. (8) My answer is Dislodge, but I'm not sure where the car comes in, if at all? Can you explain that for me. Thanks.

We do have Bangers and Mash here, too, so don't be getting to politically correct with your selections. After all, we are learning all these new words and sayings and it helps the old brain cells keep ticking.

I did play with Dodge and the L but couldn't see where the IS came in. Still don't, actually. Not a very good clue is it?
It's a Canadian magazine which doesn't mean beans as most of the articles (and I assume the crosswords) are Americanised. (And don't start me on that subject). It's why I prefer the UK crosswords when I can get them - Generalist etc.
