downloaded a video torrent file but it won't open. i have all the codecs i think but still nothing

try VLC player. It'll play almost anything

tried it already and it doesn't work, also tried divx player and media player classic. it's the last 2 episodes of heroes as well. aaarrggh!
the files definitely complete? anyone else had problems with torrent?

yep the file is complete. its doing my head in.
anything on the site you got it from on torrent comments?

have you tried g-spot.

It's a codec thingummy - will tell you what codec you need to play it.

a sound little app but i think the torrent is corrupted. it seems like the thing i want are always corrupted or just don't work.
do you have any tips on things to look out for when downloading torrents.

other than looking at other people's comments, not really.
What site and client are you using?
http://www.torrentspy.com is usually fairly good for comments about the torrents

I use azureus and that has a bit in it that lets other downloaders/seeders comment on the torrent. I don't know about other clients.
try downloading from www.mininova.org.I have used this torrent site for a couple of years now without any hassle.You do get the odd corrupt file, but not very often.

The last 2 episodes of Heroes are really good.
