What's the nicest christening gift you've received for yourself or your child, or you yourself given or heard of? My sister is running out of time to find one for a baby boy. I'll say thankyou on her behalf, as she isn't a member, but I'll send her this link and I know she'll be grateful. Thanks!

We also received a number of 'first tooth' boxes - again which are lovely. Also had a lovely photo album which was like a baby book, but just with the plastic window leaves to put pictures in - I have just started filling this in with my 3 year old with pictures he likes and it is his. My mum (always one to be different) bought him some antique spoons as an investment. We were given a children's book of bible stories which was a really lovely present (and have only received one from 2 christenings). Another favourite was a Winnie the Pooh glass musical snow-ball from John Lewis. Also a silver tube for keeping the birth certificate in, with teddy bears holding it at each end. I once gave one of the Bear Factory bears with a spoken message inside.

My sister has asked me to thank you all for you wonderful ideas; she's overwhelmed with your response and is now feeling quite reassured that she will get through this with flying colours! I asked if she wanted to single anyone out for me to thank, but she enjoyed all your replies immensely. (Personally I fell for the time capsule, and will remember to remember that for my next christening invitation.)
Keep'em coming, she will look in again!
