hi, have bought a lg lcd t.v. the telext bit gets stuck and the t.v. has to be switched off and on again to free it up. this didn.t happen when I was using a seperate freeview box so is it unlikely to be the ariel? or do the integrated freeview boxes not work so well? the picture freezes occasionally and I don't remember it freezing using the seperate box. suggestions please.
thanks, alf.

How do you mean the teletext gets stuck - i take you mean if you put the tv on teletext you can't get it back to the tv without turning it off ? If so I would guess your tv is faulty.
As for the picture freezing that is normal with digital broadcasts.

hi woodchopper, no, I mean that the teletext starts and you read a couple of pages of news and then when you try to move to the next page the "please wait" message appears as normal at the top of the screen but nothing happens, you wait a couple of minutes and still the same, and when you try to exit teletext , you can't. it stays stuck, you can't get rid of it or change channels, then you have to switch off the t.v. to clear it.
thanks, alf.
Me thinks tv is faulty - anyone else any idea ?
Tend to agree with Woodchopper. Even if you had no signal, the TV should still switch between teletext and picture modes on command.
hi
have you checked your signal strenth ? you should be able to do this through your menu on the tv . i presume you have a built in digi box now ?
I also have just bought an LG LCD and have no problems with text, me thinks the set is faulty
Question Author
hi, thanks for the input. I have found out how to check the signal strength and it is good in both quality and strength so I must agree that the set could be faulty, but before the guarantee people come out they want to be sure my ariel is the correct one for the area and being that it was on the chimney before I moved in I will have get it checked out. nothing is ever simple!
thanks, alf.
