You have to remember that the troops were a long way from home (North Africa, the Far East) and had been away a long time. They were homesick. They didn't want new songs: they wanted the old favourites they knew and loved, and that's what Vera Lynn gave them. I'm sure she sang many songs in these concerts, but the staples which surely came out every time were 'White Cliffs of Dover', 'Wish Me Luck As You Wave Me Goodbye' and the greatest favourite of all, 'We'll Meet Again'.
