What should I do?

Hi all, My 8 year old daughter has been saying that some kids at school are being 'mean' to her. This had been going on for a few months last year but settled for the month of December and she came home today, her first day back, saying that 2 girls, whom she says are her friends, don't want her to play with them on certain days of the week. I did not approach the school last year as my daughter tends to be a bit dramatic, due to having a pragmatic language disorder, and I caught her out a few times when she told me no one would play with her, and I later found out she had no problem finding someone else to play with. I have done the thing of telling her not to bother with them and play with someone else but she insists on putting herself through thrying to get them to play with her each day. I know in the great scope of things this is probably a trivial matter but I would be grateful for any advice as I don't want to put my fears of being bullied on her and create a problem where there may not be one. Thanks all

I also took advice as I didn't want to over react etc. Try and keep a note of things you are being told in a diary for a couple of weeks. You can then recap when needs be and try to put the pieces of thepuzzle together if needs be. It might also show if yr litle one is being OTT. If not, you can approach the school armed with your notes.
Hope this helps

Hello again
Thanks for your replies.
Unfortunately I don't know any of the helpers at the school so I can't ask them to keep an eye on her.
I really don't want to overeact and I think that keeping a diary is a great idea.
I have spoken to her this evening regarding telling the truth about these things and her reaction made me think she may have been embellishing a little!!
Many thanks for your suggestions.

If I were you I would speak to her teacher.
Find out if the teacher is aware of what is going on and take it from there!
My daughter was being verbally abused at school and I called the school and reported it. They have been good to date and helped no end!
Thank goodness it has now stopped.
Find out asap and do not let it drop!
