Problems with sound quality on burnt discs

I've burnt some music on to a disc via Windows Media Player that I downloaded through Lime Wire. When I play the CD the first few tracks have really bad sound quality, like static but the rest seem fine. Does anyone know why this would be and how I could remedy it? They play fine through the laptop.

You sometimes get this if you try to burn the CD at a fast speed. Reducing the burn speed often eliminates this.
